Each year, Wellspring offers a generous fellowship for a visiting writer to stay long-term as both a Resident and Wellspring Employee. The Fellowship provides long-term housing (6 months to a year) and a monthly stipend of $2,000 to an emerging writer. Fellows have their own bedroom, living area, and workspace at Wellspring and are expected to help out with the running of the house, completing a variety of tasks pertaining to the management and marketing of the retreat. The time commitment for this position is around 20 hours per week.

During the submission period, all applicants must be apply via our Application form. This form, which is accessible via this page during application windows. The form will request the following information:
- A cover letter, including a brief biographical statement, your relevant professional experience, and your artistic plans during the term of your fellowship (max. 500 words).
- A resume or CV.
- A sample of your work (max. five pages).
- Contact information for two references.
- An emergency contact.
While at Wellspring, your duties might include: booking rooms, responding to resident requests, marketing Wellspring House via social media, newsletters, and the website, occasionally picking up residents from nearby travel centers, clerical and editorial work, managing of household (including handling of compost and recycling, watering of plants, preparing the house for seasonal transitions, stocking, and checking on light maintenance issues as they arise.) While in residence, the Resident Fellow will be ‘on call’ in case of emergencies.
**NOTE: While a personal vehicle is preferred, it is not essential. Unfortunately, Wellspring cannot accommodate animal companions.
